Artist Statement:
In Patricia Newton’s own words–
“Although my foundations in art began to develop as a child, I pursued a full time career and raised a family. As it turned out, both of my adult children are very talented artists as well. Elusive as it seemed, art found it’s way back and has become an integral part of my life. I enjoy painting the motion of surf and sea, and portraits that have some degree of unique qualities. My style is representational, utilizing a glazing technique of many thin layers to create a translucent effect that provides depth and emanates light from my paintings. I’m a member of Oil Painters of America and Portrait Society of America.”
