Michael’s photography was inspired by an aunt who taught her to develop film and make black and white prints in her darkroom.
At retirement she bought a digital camera, and at a local photography school, learned the basics. With that foundation and at workshops led by accomplished photographers such as Tony Stromberg, Scott Trees, Sherron Sheppard, and others Michael began to focus on her passion for horses. She traveled to Portugal, Colorado, New Mexico and California to capture the beauty, grace, majesty, and lives of these beautiful animals.
Michael’s work centers on photographing horses at liberty in their natural environments, running free. The equine’s unique athleticism, form, grace, and herd interactions are captured at those times.
Michael adds elements, textures and rearranges things to emphasize her interpretation and vision. I hope you enjoy the display of Michael’s photos as much as she enjoys capturing and presenting them to you.
