Jessica Weiss is a nature/wildlife photographer living in Morro Bay, CA. With a video background and a degree in Film Studies, as well as teaching photography/video at the high school level, she has been fascinated by telling a story, capturing a moment, playing with motion or rather freezing it with photography, and framing the subject in different ways. As a kid, she was inspired by her late grandfather who always had a camera in his hand, from a rather large camcorder to a 35mm film camera. He captured real moments that can last forever now, adding even more meaning as time goes on. While her photos have a different focus, she hopes to be able to capture moments that we want to keep forever; capturing all of the great and beautiful scenery, birds, and wildlife in the area. She is thrilled to share each print worthy moment so you can see a little bit of the world and the lives of birds, wildlife, or other creatures, making them as true to life as possible.
While relatively new to professional photography, she has been a secondary teacher for the last ten years, but has actively gone on nature/wildlife shoots around the area since 2016. She has also worked as a real estate photographer. Every type of photography she has done has helped her hone her craft, and she loves the opportunity to use her camera.
