Nancy Jensen celebrates the simple joys of living on the central coast of California. In her watercolor paintings she honors the fruits of the harvest in local vineyards, the springtime surprises of bright wildflowers and blooming gardens, the fresh produce of local farms, and the gifts of the sea scattered on local sandy beaches. She recognizes the rich architectural beauty of the historic missions, the patchwork tapestry of the rolling hills, and the quiet pleasures of relaxing at home with a good book and a cup of tea. Grateful to be part of the community in such a stunning natural setting, she strives to capture and preserve the joy in her watercolors.
Nancy came to the central coast as a student at UCSB and has called the area home ever since. From Goleta and Santa Maria to Paso Robles and Cayucos, her family has grown and established deep roots. After a long and cherished career as an elementary teacher, Nancy is now focused on lifelong learning, through travel, reading, art, and time with family and friends. She has studied painting with local artists and instructors, and sees the world differently because of it. With daily practice, she is learning, growing, and finding new insights on her watercolor journey.
