Title: “WILDLIFE WISDOM & WHIMSY”
“Wildlife Wisdom & Whimsy” is a gallery show of the drawings, paintings, and ekphrastic poetry (poems describing the art) of George Asdel. He is a poet and lifelong artist. Much of his art and poetry is whimsical but often dealing with serious subject matter mostly animals and foolish humans. Asdel’s art media is pen and ink, pencil, watercolor, and acrylic. His poems range from haiku and limericks to ballads and free verse. He has been in many galleries and has owned studios in Newfoundland, Canada; Pismo and Shell Beach. Asdel’s art is in collections around the world, and his poems have won awards. He now lives in Atascadero, California with his wife Kathie.
