What is the Sublime? The sublime was a prominent art term and visual pursuit, particularly in the 18th and 19th centuries.  However in it’s heyday, the sublime was pictorially sought through naturalistic landscape paintings. Artist statement: Debbie Gedayloo is a self-taught fiber artist. Her primary medium is wool but she also incorporates various other fibers into her art. Her work is created both using wet felting and needle felting techniques. “I love the tactile nature of the fibers and their ability to lend themselves to both the realistic and playful. Needle felting allows for sculpting the fibers and creating 3-D pieces which speaks to my interest in engineering and natural forms. It is a wonderful to sit with the fibers and create every day and the added level of joy experienced by sharing with others heightens the creative process.”
