Artist’s Note:
My work honors the quiet beauty of everyday moments — a cup of morning coffee, fresh flowers, the play of light. These simple details offer comfort and introspection.
Through color and atmosphere, I invite you to pause, reflect, and appreciate the small joys often overlooked. It is my hope that these paintings inspire a deeper gratitude for the present moment.
Thank you for taking time with my work.
— Janet Newland
Artist Statement:
My paintings explore the quiet richness of everyday life — a morning cup of coffee, the warmth of shared wine, the effortless elegance of fresh flowers. Working primarily in acrylics, watercolors, and mixed media, I use vibrant color and expressive compositions to highlight the sensory qualities of familiar scenes.
Rather than telling a story, my work emphasizes atmosphere — the comfort, intimacy, and calm found in simple rituals. Each piece invites viewers to pause and notice the beauty embedded in the ordinary.
