Discovered the art a couple of years ago and learned the basic techniques from artists on You Tube. “As a young adult, I drew, painted using water colors, and did some pottery work. While working and raising a family, sewing and gardening were easier hobbies to follow. “Our family has made our home on the Central Coast for the past 29 years and we love living here. “I have always loved beach rocks, shells, semi-precious stones and minerals and, found that wire wrapping gave me a way to incorporate these into beautiful art. “Using wire from hobby stores, at first, I soon discovered one of my daughters was very allergic to something in the wire, probably nickel. ART LISTINGS: AUGUST 2023 FEATURED SHOW: Steve Dayton, Assemblages Exhibits Beginning: AUGUST 1, 2023 Exhibits Ending: AUGUST 29, 2023 2nd Saturday OPENING RECEPTION: SATURDAY, AUGUST 12TH, 3-5 PM** Location: GALLERY AT MARINA SQUARE, 601 EMBARCADERO, SUITE 10, MORRO BAY, CA 93442 Event Contact: 805-772-1068 Gallery Hours: 11am to 5pm daily Steve divides his time between creating assemblages and abstract painting on wood panels. The assemblages are made by taking small hand built familiar objects and motifs and placing them in box frames to create absurd scenes that include absurd and humorous titles. Steve has recently begun creating absurd scenes out of cut painted paper pasted on heavy paper also with absurd and humorous titles. The paintings are abstracts in his Cayucos series using acrylic paint inspired by visits to the Central Coast. He and his wife Barbara currently reside in Salt Lake City, Utah.

In 1983, Thomas studied crystalline glaze development with little direction as there was little experience or documentation published on the subject of crystals. Working with crystalline glazes quickly became his passion. Thomas has been an Art Instructor in California during the past 16 years. He is currently working on his post graduate degree in technical ceramics and glaze calculations. His constant endeavor in the subject of ceramics is to produce new, exciting colors and versions of crystalline glazed pieces that are well made, beautiful to look at and help add value to the understanding of form as it relates to crystalline and other glazes.

She now resides with her husband in a small town between Santa Clarita and Palmdale, California. Stevie is a self-taught artist and while exploring different mediums, she found her love for watercolor. Her work has been displayed in group shows around Southern California. “My work depicts autobiographical experiences. Through my art I am able to share both the ecstasies of my life and the struggles of trying to understand the world around me. I found a deep love for watercolor and use it in many of my pieces. Watercolor flows freely and is unpredictable just like the hidden child within.”
