She is a self taught artist working in several mediums and many types of formats. Stevie is passionate about shape and color in per paintings and crafts and uses minimal outlined forms to create larger formats on canvas, paper, ceramics and on a myriad of other surfaces.

Over his long career as an artist, he has won awards for his acrylic paintings, pen and ink drawings, illustrated books, greeting cards, and poetry. He and his wife Kathie taught art in the Hibbs’ Cove Art Centre in Newfoundland, Canada and many other venues in California. They also opened an art gallery where he sold scenes of fishing village life to collectors from around the world, and the Provincial Government. George has a delightful sense of humor which comes through in his paintings, drawings and poetry, and brings laughter and joy to everyone.

Her primary medium is wool but she also incorporates various other fibers into her art. Her work is created both using wet felting and needle felting techniques. “I love the tactile nature of the fibers and their ability to lend themselves to both the realistic and playful. Needle felting allows for sculpting the fibers and creating 3-D pieces which speaks to my interest in engineering and natural forms. It is a wonderful to sit with the fibers and create every day and the added level of joy experienced by sharing with others heightens the creative process.”

Discovered the art a couple of years ago and learned the basic techniques from artists on You Tube. “As a young adult, I drew, painted using water colors, and did some pottery work. While working and raising a family, sewing and gardening were easier hobbies to follow. “Our family has made our home on the Central Coast for the past 29 years and we love living here. “I have always loved beach rocks, shells, semi-precious stones and minerals and, found that wire wrapping gave me a way to incorporate these into beautiful art. “Using wire from hobby stores, at first, I soon discovered one of my daughters was very allergic to something in the wire, probably nickel.
