Her work is created both using wet felting and needle felting techniques. “I love the tactile nature of the fibers and their ability to lend themselves to both the realistic and playful. Needle felting allows for sculpting the fibers and creating 3-D pieces which speaks to my interest in engineering and natural forms. It is a wonderful to sit with the fibers and create every day and the added level of joy experienced by sharing with others heightens the creative process.”

As a person and as an artist, I am drawn to color. California’s colorful landscapes from the water’s edge to mountaintops are a constant source of my artistic inspirations. As a resident artist of California, I gravitate towards painting nearby coastal scenes and landscapes from National Parks. While most of my paintings are studio based, I also paint plein air whenever possible. I am also an avid traveller and photographer and spend significant amount of time photographing the beautiful landscapes during my travel. My photos often serve as scenic reminders of the places I visit and later become subjects for my studio paintings. When I am not traveling, you will frequently find me painting the colorful flowers and critters from my garden. Painting has always been a form of escape for me. It gives […]

His work all originated from snapping photos of reality. Unlike most abstract artists, he doesn’t start from a blank slate. Brian’s work has a distinct and unusual process, but he does not intend for the process of his work to be its narrative. Instead, Brian is goal oriented while working on art, which is unusual given that he is more often a process-first-centered-thinker. Brian is open to experimenting in order to reach surprising and interesting enigmatic artistic ends. Brian’s abstract work pursues the 400+ year old philosophical art term: the sublime. What is the Sublime? The sublime was a prominent art term and visual pursuit, particularly in the 18th and 19th centuries. However in it’s heyday, the sublime was pictorially sought through naturalistic landscape paintings. Products which are very different from Brian’s abstract work.In […]
