The show highlights the range of watercolor’s potential. Our Featured Artists painted the bays, waves, birds, rolling hills, and farms, each capturing the soul of the Central Coast. It also features serene marshes, harbors, and beaches that convey the coastal waters and light that defines our home. Still-life paintings and local wildlife, from otters to pelicans, are all included as well. Our Featured Artists capture watercolor’s luminous qualities to share their connections with the Golden State. Come be amazed by our Featured Artists mastery of watercolors.

Discovered the art a couple of years ago and learned the basic techniques from artists on You Tube. “As a young adult, I drew, painted using water colors, and did some pottery work. While working and raising a family, sewing and gardening were easier hobbies to follow. “Our family has made our home on the Central Coast for the past 29 years and we love living here. “I have always loved beach rocks, shells, semi-precious stones and minerals and, found that wire wrapping gave me a way to incorporate these into beautiful art. “Using wire from hobby stores, at first, I soon discovered one of my daughters was very allergic to something in the wire, probably nickel. My style is based on the non-objective modern expressionist movement that originated in post-WWII New York. I work in an intuitive manner exploring line, form and color, but without a goal in mind. “My upbringing in colorful India, and my training as a physician and scientist, inspires me to meld colors and shapes on the canvas to create organic forms that spontaneously engage viewers. The finished painting evolves from the layers of paint I add to each piece.
