Artists’ Statement—
In Virginia’s own words:
I am a colorist. I love exploring the beguiling interplay between color and light.
The way we see color is always affected by the lighting in which we find ourselves.
Moonlight, summer light, winter light, shadows, deep shade. Each has its own way of revealing to us what is before us.
My pursuit in painting is to capture the subtleties of color, as a means of savoring the experience I am immersed in.
Each subject in each setting captures my senses, endlessly fascinates me, and hopefully guides me to a way of revealing the richness of each moment.
