Londie G. Padelsky
A seventh generation Californian from a ranching family in San Luis Obispo, Londie has become widely recognized as one of the leading women outdoor photographers. Her extensive travels have led her to places all over the world, including extended journeys into the wilderness and on the California mission trail.
Londie’s inquisitive nature enables her to seek out and connect with people inter natural environment. She not only is the photographer, but often an active participant. Her influences and inspirations come from the sea and sky, creeks, rivers and mountains, and from the people who ride the range, and the folks that represent the salt of the sea.
“My photography speaks of my life, who I am and what I do. I love living out there, rustic and totally immersed with nature. for me, watching light slowly add dimension to a shadowed scene by painting it with color is as enjoyable as photographing a fast paced cattle roundup from horseback. Wether it is a person’s face, a grand landscape, or one of nature’s intimate details, light is the magic that makes the subject come alive.”
Lonnie has lived in and photographed the Eastern Sierra Mountains since 1982. Her photography has been published worldwide in magazines, books and calendars.
